We purchased 10 1/2 acres of vacant land to build our new homestead in 2013. The property was filled with poison ivy, brambles, scrub trees, vines, and dead trees. We worked to clear the property by hand on weekends and during our vacation time. It took almost a year before we could have the excavator dig the basement and set the grade in preparation to build our new home.
Together my husband and I designed and built our home. We thought you'd like to see the property and some of the footage of the land during that time.
Since moving into the house in mid 2015, we've built two chicken coops, two goat sheds, two goat towers, built the large goat barn, planted an orchard, put in a raised bed garden, installed fencing, planted over 50 trees on the property that include pine trees, willows, oak and maple trees, apple, pear, and apricots trees, put in a large pond and landscaped the around house. I get tired just writing about all the stuff we've done!
We hope you enjoy this short video. Let us know what you think. We'd love to hear from you!
