We've been using wild plants and herbs in making lotions, creams and soaps, personal care products, cleaning products, animal care products and more for years.  Those recipes can be found here that we use.

Please note if you do not add any preservatives to the creams, lotions, etc., they will need to be refrigerated.  They will have a short shelf life.  Here are a couple of recommendations for preservatives you can use: 

Optiphen and Phenonip are both natural preservatives.

Optiphen is most often used for facial care and lip care items like face cream and lip balm because it is Paraben and formaldehyde free.Phenonip is great for all other items. From the information we have read, Phenonip is water soluble making it a better choice for items like shampoo, lotions, hand creams, liquid soap,  etc.
